The Centenaries Appeal, launched in 1993, was an ambitious project to undertake and was quite possibly our most ambitious project in recent years. Through hard work and dedication to the cause, £2.3 million was raised, despite the onset of recession. In all, just under 1000 gifts were received – a true example of the generosity of the Stonyhurst Community.
Our consultants said that we raised twice as much as any of their other school clients. This money raised provided funding for a variety of projects, including the building upgrades (to the the Science block and other teaching facilities); new building projects (the Centenaries Theatre at SMH) and contributed to our bursary provisions.
The overall support of the Stonyhurst family was magnificent!
